Wolves

Information about...

Wolves are a class of the canine family, and are the largest of all canines. They are carnivores and range in size depending on where they live. Some of them are only about 50 pounds full grown while others can be up to 200 pounds. They can range in size from 4 ½ feet to 6 feet. They are found to live in many places throughout the Northern Hemisphere.  They are very intelligent animals that live in packs. They can have from 6 to 20 members in them at a time. They hunt as a group which makes it possible for them to take down large prey such as moose and elk.  Other than hunting to eat, wolves are usually not aggressive. However, they will fight other animals and even other wolves in order to protect their pack. The average lifespan of a wolf in the wild is from 6 to 8 years. Today many species of wolves are considered to be endangered.

Definitions

_ define the word “grid” = a structure made up of horizontal and vertical lines, and on it a designer places things like headings, text, images, captions, etc. It can be complex of very simple.

_ why do we (designers) use a grid? what are the benefits or functions? = The grid provides a framework where text, image, and space can be combined in a unified and cohesive manner. The grid has evolved into an indispensable structure enabling us to produce rationalized layouts.

_ what is a modular grid? = Includes grid elements that each have a display ratio which is adaptable to correspond to different aspect ratios of respective display devices via which media content can be displayed

_ define and illustrate: margins = The area that is not accommodated by the text.

_ columns = Groups of text that are vertical in length.

_ grid modules = An area calculated in depth by the text leading and width by the text line length.

_ flowlines =Alignments that break the space into horizontal bands.

_ gutter = Inner margins of the page that separate modules from one another.

_ define hierarchy = Information that is to be viewed, such as title, subtitle, caption, block of text, illustrations and graphic devices.

_ define typographic color (this does not mean color as in change it to a color) = The optical grayness of text type, particularly visible while squinting when viewing a block of text.

_ what are ways to achieve a clear hierarchy? = Have a clear structure. Type weights, sizes of headings, and any subdivision of the text must be distinguishable at a glance.

_ define white space = Technically the negative space, where there is no text or image.

_ define contrast = How elements in the layout contrast or how the layout itself contrasts with its context

Animals that I am contemplating..

Peacocks are large pheasant birds.  The male peacock usually has very beautiful bluish greenish or gold plumage.  The females are not as brightly colored and their tails are not as long.

Dragons are mythical creatures that are usually reptilian and or serpentine in looks and nature.  There are two different kinds, the European dragon and the Chinese dragon.

cobra+snake.jpg
The king cobra is the world's largest venomous snake and can grow up to around 17 feet.  The cobra is very agile and aggressive and is therefore considered one of the most dangerous snakes in Asia.

Tom-VezoArctic-Grey-Wolf-in-Snow-Idaho-USA.jpg
The largest wild member of the Canidae family.  They are social predators that live in families usually with a mated couple and their offspring.

Cool design

The constrained ball.  A device that allows you to make perfectly straight lines all the time and even measures them out for you.  How incredibly useful and awesome is that?

Only problem is I think this might still be a prototype, because I cannot find it for sale anywhere online. :(
